orange and fig bircher
If you are someone that loves having your breakfast all ready to go when you wake up in the morning, then this is the recipe for YOU! It makes enough for days so you can guarantee that no matter how hectic your morning is your breakfast will be ready and waiting for you!
recipe (serves 3-4)
ingredients
1.5 cups oats
1 cup dried figs or dates, chopped
¼ cup chopped nuts (I used almonds)
¼ cup chia seeds
1 tbsp cinnamon
Zest of 1 orange
Juice of ½ orange
1 ¼ cup almond milk
method
1. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, dried figs, nuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, orange zest, orange juice and almond milk.
2. Pop the oat mixture into the fridge to set overnight.
3. in the morning plate it up or pop it into a jar and dollop some Greek yoghurt on top.
tip
I would recommend some yoghurt on top for some extra protein and deliciousness!
